Adventure in Brazil Dos

From Salvador and the Red Fish Posada, did I tell you what a great place the Red Fish Posada is, we went to Sao Paulo for one night. Sao Paulo has 24 million people according to Mike and they were all driving the day we got there. It is supposed to be a half an hour drive from the airport to the temple but it took us an hour and 15 minutes at mid day. We stayed at the temple apartments. They were really austere but the price was right. We were going to see the only museum in town but the traffic and time over took us so we settled for seeing Walmart. They did have a large mall across the street from the temple. We put in our obligatory time there as well. The next morning we got up and got the same cab we came in and headed for the airport. This time the traffic was improved, but it was Saturday. Mike had been giving he cab driver the first discussion on the way to the temple and gave him a Book of Mormon and a pass-a-long card on the second trip. You can take the missionary out of the mission but you can't take the mission out of the missionary.
In Rio we are staying at the 163 Bed and Breadfast run by an English ex-patriot couple. (Red Fish Posada is owned by an English expatriot too.) This place is very nicely done as well, though not quite up to Red Fish standards. From our balcony you can see the ocean and a lot of Rio. A short walk down the cobble stones is the neighborhood center with numerous cafes and trinket shops. After dinner some of the locals come out with home made cakes and pies. The coconut cake I had was the best food of the entire trip. Across the road from the restaurants is a night spot which sounded like it had attracted every 18-30 year old in Rio. It had a $15 cover charge so we didn't go in. Deanne had been suffering a shopping deficit which she cured after dinner. Tomorrow is three hours of church while I pray for the gift of tongues. Then we have two more days before we spend all of Wednesday flying home.
